Pièce Unique (1 of 1): Höglund & Sons Mark V Prototype with Blue Dial
NOTE: Only one Mark V with this dial was produced, making it a pièce unique. It will never be replicated in the future.
From the Höglund & Sons Founder, Brandon Höglund:
The Mark V represents our interpretation of the ideal three-hand watch. It combines the simplicity and thinness of a dress watch with the utility and versatility of a sports watch. It is the culmination of all the knowledge my brother and I have accrued from our five previous successful Kickstarter campaigns and the hundreds of watches we have reviewed on our YouTube channel WatchesOnYou.
The Movement
We investigated several movement options for this watch, and it became clear that the reliability and functionality of the Miyota 9039 movement was ideal for the Mark V due to its:
Ultra-Smooth 4 Hz (8 "ticks" per second) second hand.
Ability to be wound using the motion of the wearer's wrist.
Premium Finishing with Geneva Stripes.
42 hour power reserve (without any wrist winding).
Hacking/Stopping-seconds feature, which allows for more precise time setting by stopping the motion of the seconds hand while the minute and hour hands are being set.
Extensive track record of reliability.
The Case
The case of the Mark V is milled from stainless steel and features scratch-resistant sapphire front and caseback crystals. The case has a diameter of 38 mm, a lug-width of 19 mm, a lug-to-lug length of 46 mm, and a thickness of 10.45 mm.
The case features scalloped lugs, which add an element of texture to the sides of the case.
The watch has a 50 m water resistance rating and each watch is individually tested to this depth prior to shipment.
All watches will include both a genuine leather pin buckle strap and a steel mesh bracelet which can be exchanged without a spring bar tool using a spring-loaded pin system. Standard spring bars can also be used with the watch if a customer wants to use a custom strap.
The crown is signed with an "H."
The Dial
All dial colors have an enamel-like glossy finish.
All hour indices are applied rather than painted.
